The Hunger Games is one of the most popular movies and book series in the world right now, and it seems like everyone is still abuzz about the big movie release and finally having the opportunity to see characters like Katniss, Peeta and Gale onscreen. But what does this have to do with recruiting?
The tributes are all highly trained, skilled individuals, and we’re wondering if their personalities could potentially translate into solid recruiting. See how these four characters stack up, and make your pick.
1. Katniss: Katniss is extremely cunning. She’s able to manipulate the Capitol and viewers into sponsoring her with supplies; she outsmarts the Career tributes; and her archery skills bring all the boys to the yard. We’re frankly a little scared of just how effective she would be as a recruiter. Katniss would use her smarts and powers of persuasion to filter exactly the right candidates through for each position she was recruiting for. Plus, she has a finely tuned BS detector, so she would know when candidates were stretching the truth about their past experience.
2. Peeta: Peeta’s main weapon in the arena is love. But for such a softie, he’s no slouch in the hunting and gathering department. Peeta’s gentle nature would put candidates at ease, and his innate sense of fairness would make him an impartial judge of skills and talent. Plus, he’d probably bring bagels to the office on the regular, and everyone loves carbs.
3. Foxface: Foxface and the other Career tributes snatch and grab what they want in the arena. They’re a bloodthirsty lot that we wouldn’t trust. There’s no doubt Foxface would get a lot accomplished, but we also wouldn’t put it past her to fill positions with unsavory candidates just to meet her goals. Plus, at any point, she could turn into a rabid dog.
4. Rue: Rue’s sweet nature (like Peeta’s) would be perfect for helping candidates become comfortable and familiar with the organization and current job opportunities. Her only downfall is that she tends to be too trusting and could easily be misled by less-than-honest candidates. A mentorship under Peeta would help her develop a more discerning but sensitive style.
